If you ever feel worried, upset, or uncomfortable by anything that happens online the best thing you can do is tell someone else about it.
It can feel really upsetting to view something online which you didn't want and lots of times it can be through no fault of your own. Similarly it can be really creepy if you trusted someone you were chatting with, and then weren't sure if they were telling the truth.
Everyone makes mistakes and accidents happen so it is always best to talk to a friend, teacher or parent if someone or something you see or receive online makes you feel uncomfortable.
You can make a report to Thinkuknow.co.uk if you think you are chatting to an adult online that asks you to do things you don't want to do or who wants to meet up with you offline.
In the UK, the charity Childline runs a 24 hour service for young people to discuss any issues they have (ring 0800 1111).
You can also report any content you think is illegal to the Internet Watch Foundation Hotline that works with the police to remove illegal material from the internet.
For hotlines in other countries see www.inhope.org for a full list.
Make sure you look out for your friends and family and realise that all of us - young people and adults alike - all need to learn to use the internet in a SMART way to keep ourselves and each other safe. We need to help each other to ensure we know what to do if we view things online or talk to people that make us feel uncomfortable or worried online.
